Dr. Ray is a native New Mexican who was born and raised in Albuquerque. He earned a scholarship to play basketball at Adams State College as a letterman. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Ray attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Ray completed a four year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas- San Antonio. After completing his residency, Dr. Ray received an additional year of training in Pain Management during a fellowship at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana.
Dr. Ray was hired to start a Pain clinic with the Iowa Orthopedic Center, which is the largest orthopedic group in the state of Iowa. The pain clinic was extremely successful, but Dr. Ray had a strong desire to return to his home state. He came to Farmington in the summer of 2009 to offer the people of the Four Corners Area comprehensive pain services.
Away from work Dr. Ray enjoys spending time with his wife, cooking, playing sports, and exploring the Four Corners Region.
Dr. Ray is member of many leading organizations that specialize in the treatment of back injuries to include ISIS(International Spine Intervention Society), ASIPP( American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians), NASS(North American Spine Society), AAPMR(American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation).
