About Scott Farber, MD
Dr. Scott J Farber subsequently pursued additional specialized training in cranio-maxillofacial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery with world-renowned mentors at New York University Langone Hospital in Manhattan, New York. It was during this time that Dr. Farber was one of the surgeons involved in one of the world’s most extensive and successful face transplants. During this time, Dr. Farber also served as a clinical instructor of surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, teaching plastic surgery techniques and principles to surgical residents and medical students. Dr. Farber then moved to San Antonio, where he spent over two years as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the plastic surgery residency program here at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Long School of Medicine. He taught the full scope of the techniques in modern plastic surgery to residents and medical students. Dr. Farber was an officer in the United States Navy Reserve, where, when deployed, he utilized his surgical and medical acumen to help injured members of the Armed Forces in reconstructive plastic surgery for the wounded warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
