Dr. Schapiro’s extensive experience includes work in private practice, community and rehabilitation settings, public and private schools. She has directed and designed special education programs and rehabilitation programs for individuals who have sustained mild to moderate head injury and their families.
Dr. Schapiro has published in a wide range of topics, including identification and screening of mentally gifted children, neuropsychological manifestations of head injury, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation. She is co-editor of a book entitled Minor Head Trauma: Assessment, Management and Rehabilitation. She has been a guest speaker at numerous community and professional meetings on topics related to behavior management, AD/HD, character development, promoting self-esteem, stress management and fostering positive parent-child relationships. She was featured in television’s AM Philadelphia, and on AM Talk Radio.
Dr. Schapiro developed and directed an interdisciplinary, private group practice that focused on promoting a holistic team approach to mental health and emotional well-being. She currently maintains a private practice in Boca Raton, Florida, assisting teens, adults and couples with life transitions, relationship issues, depressive and anxiety disorders.
