As a second generation doctor, I became drawn to medicine at an early age, and with early acceptance I earned my Bachelor’s & Doctorate of Medicine from Drexel University School of Medicine. Next, I followed it up with a fellowship in laparoscopy and pelvic surgery at Celebration Health in Florida. After my fellowship in laparoscopic gynecological surgery was finished, I became Board certified in Gynecology, and then started my own private boutique practice.
As a modern woman I still believe in my faith I was raised on, but I know and understand how difficult it is for women in general, especially ones from particular faiths including my own, to seek medical treatment in areas of their body that might seem off-limits; so, all women are welcomed into my practice. When administering highly acclaimed treatments to my patients, I look at the whole person and not just their symptoms only. It is important for me to listen to my patients garnering a mutual love and respect for each other where they come to know my care for them is highly effective, therefore becoming well-known in the community because of my deep commitment to positive outcomes for my patients.
Combining all of these factors with the surgical and medical care gynecology brings, and with the continuity of care & treatment for my patients, it has become the utmost importance to me to specialize in gynecological surgery utilizing innovative surgical solutions. To reduce my patients’ fear and stress, I make them an integral part of their own health, working with them to help determine the best course of action for their own treatment while only recommending surgery when necessary. If surgery is recommended, I implement Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocols (ERAS®) for all post surgical patients, which has resulted in: improved quality of care, a shorter length of stay, less adverse events, better patient experience, and decreased costs.
One of the many treatments I use is the MonaLisa Touch® Laser for vaginal rejuvenation treatments. It helps women rediscover a comfort in their lives that may have been missing for years, possibly providing a new sense of energy. It is similar in size and comfort to using a vaginal ultrasound wand. Also, I provide: robotic surgery where I performed the first single-site robotic hysterectomy in North Pinellas County, hormonal therapy, general gynecology, and pelvic pain relief & treatments where my highly trained minimally invasive procedures for conditions such as pelvic pain allow me to conduct sophisticated genetic testing.
I speak English, Urdu, Hindi & Gujarati and my staff speaks both English & Spanish.
