Dr. Ackland is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He concentrates on arthroscopic reconstruction of the shoulder and knee. He has a particular interest in revision surgery of the shoulder after failed surgery. Dr. Ackland attended medical school and orthopedic residency training in Ottawa, Canada, and the University of Toronto. Dr. Ackland is also the founder of the Ackland Sports Medicine foundation, a charitable organization that raises and contributes funds to young athletes in need of financial assistance to play sports. He strongly believes that sports for young boys and girls can teach excellent values and work ethics.
