Dr. Maria Tulpan is a caring and attentive endocrinologist and internist located in midtown Manhattan, New York City, with almost 20 years of clinical experience. She received her medical degree from Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania, and completed her residency at Jacobi Medical Center, New York. She attended Yale University for a two year fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, where she was involved with research on Type I diabetes. She is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism and internal medicine.

Dr. Tulpan's specialties include issues related to diabetes and metabolism, such as thyroid disease, obesity, pituitary and adrenal gland disorders, osteoporosis, sexual dysfunction, PCOS and infertility. For all diabetic patients she offers testing with the continuous glucose monitoring sensor. She also performs thyroid and neck ultrasound and draws blood at the time of the visit.

Dr. Tulpan takes pride in her individualized care of each patient and places great emphasis on nutrition and a healthy lifestyle as a complement to appropriate medical treatment.She offers consultation for weight loss and is one of the early adopters of ProLon™ (a 5-day fasting mimicking meal plan) that she recommends to her patients to help kick start weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.

Originally from Romania, Dr. Tulpan strives for a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity, good and nutritious food, and a reasonable work-life balance. She is fluent in English, Romanian and French, and speaks some Italian and Spanish; Mandarin and Cantonese are also fluently spoken by a staff member.
