At VIPSkinMD in Boca Raton, Dr. Scanlan strives to restore each patient from head-to-toe, treating each of her discerning clients as a "VIP" while offering the most advanced and minimally invasive cosmetic treatments. Her vision for VIPSkinMD is to provide quality care in an age of quantity care, where each patient's treatment plan is physician directed and performed. At VIPSkinMD, she invites you to experience highly personalized medicine by a true expert in all things skin.
VIPSkinMD is not a concierge service. This means there is no annual fee. It is a direct-pay cosmetic dermatology practice where patients pay for services they elect to receive after meeting with the doctor. This is also not a "Med-Spa" as all procedures are performed by Dr. Scanlan who is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology (www.certificationmatters.org). She also participates in Maintenance of Certification in Dermatology, assuring her selective patients that they have chosen a dermatologist at the highest level of training.
Dr. Scanlan graduated Cum Laude in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in Gainesville, with minors in Philosophy and Chemistry. She received her medical degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa, graduating among the top of her class and being recognized with the Award for Academic Excellence. It is there where she also completed her internship in Internal Medicine.
Her residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery was completed at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was the recipient of the Excellence in Dermatologic Surgery Award. While there she received the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Preceptorship Award for Cosmetic and Surgical Dermatology, and she was awarded the Women’s Dermatologic Society Mentorship Grant in Laser Education and Research.
Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the American Medical Association.
She also has a passion for teaching the next generation of dermatologists and dermatologic surgeons. As such, she contributes her surgical skills as voluntary faculty at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital where she teaches dermatologic surgery and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Scanlan enjoys all aspects of dermatologic surgery and procedural dermatology and her goal is to provide the highest-quality patient-centered care available. She is fluent in English, Russian, and medical Spanish.
