Frequently Asked Questions

Every doctor is vetted and credentialed before joining UBERDOC. Doctors must be board certified and have an active medical license in the state they are providing services. Exceptions are made for Psychologists, Dentists and Optometrists as these specialties do not require board certifications.

Doctors choose their appointment fee based on specialty and geography. The average cost is $250. You pay $50 when your appointment is confirmed, and the remaining after the completion of the visit.

Included in your UBERDOC appointment is an initial consultation. Any subsequent care or treatment can be through insurance.

If you choose a doctor who is a Medicare provider, you may need to only pay $50 for you UBERDOC appointment. Please discuss with your doctor directly to see if you are eligible.

UBERDOC works outside insurance. Your UBERDOC appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

About John Scaffidi, MD
John Scaffidi, MD, FABOM, FACOG, of Lehigh Valley Weight Loss with offices in Allentown and Easton, Pennsylvania, received his Bachelor's in Science degree from Lehigh Valley's prestigious Muhlenberg College with honors in both biology and psychology, and was awarded a coveted membership into Psi Chi, the National Psychology Honor Society in 1983. This was followed by a Master's program in Applied Human Physiology while he participated in research with both the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Medical school followed at University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ at their leading medical center, Cooper Hospital University Medical Center, where he obtained his medical degree, again with honors.

Internship and residency followed at the nationally recognized St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, where Dr. Scaffidi culminated his training by serving as chief resident. During this time, he participated in research and published several papers on various topics concerning obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive medicine as well as serving as both the state and national district III as representative for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Since then, Dr. Scaffidi has been in private practice committed to training other professionals by teaching residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. He has also extensively lectured on multiple topics in the fields of obstetrics, gynecology, and bariatrics to physicians, nurses, and the general public, while furthering his education on a constant basis with the sole purpose of improving others' lives.
