Frequently Asked Questions

Every doctor is vetted and credentialed before joining UBERDOC. Doctors must be board certified and have an active medical license in the state they are providing services. Exceptions are made for Psychologists, Dentists and Optometrists as these specialties do not require board certifications.

Doctors choose their appointment fee based on specialty and geography. The average cost is $250. You pay $50 when your appointment is confirmed, and the remaining after the completion of the visit.

Included in your UBERDOC appointment is an initial consultation. Any subsequent care or treatment can be through insurance.

If you choose a doctor who is a Medicare provider, you may need to only pay $50 for you UBERDOC appointment. Please discuss with your doctor directly to see if you are eligible.

UBERDOC works outside insurance. Your UBERDOC appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

Medical degree obtained in 1987 at the University of Antwerp, Antwerp Belgium. Completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Received the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Membership. In 1992, while at the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Saint Vincent's Hospital, New York, NYC, received the Doctor William R Grace Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine for Clinical Excellence. Authored several publications pertaining to both Critical care and Cardiovascular diseases. Former Medical Director of the Coronary Care Unit at UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. More than 25 years of extensive experience in hospital care ( as Cardiologist, Intensivist and briefly Hospitalist),clinical research and clinical Cardiology outpatient practice settings. Background in administrative and teaching responsibilities throughout both an academic and private practice career. Years of experience in a variety of cardiovascular procedures, including echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear imaging, cardiac catheterization and coronary CTA and other multiple other procedures related to the Critical Care setting. Currently active as Tele-Intensivist for Advanced ICU care. I provide (remote) Echo/EKG professional interpretation for several large national Cardiac Imaging companies across the USA.
