About FERNANDO GONZALES-PORTILLO, MD
Fernando Gonzales-Portillo, MD, is a board-certified neurologist specializing in headaches, migraine and stroke. A native of Peru, Dr. Gonzales-Portillo received his medical degree from Alberto Hurtado School of Medicine Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru.
He completed a psychiatry internship at University of Alabama in Birmingham and an internal medicine internship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Gonzales-Portillo then completed his neurology residency and cerebrovascular fellowship training, also at Indiana University School of Medicine.
He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the International and American Headache Societies, the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association. He was recognized as one of America’s Top Physicians in 2010 and 2011. Recently, Dr. Gonzales-Portillo was recognized as the top neurologist in Central Florida at the Hispanic Physician Awards.
