Dr. Pelto is a native from rural Minnesota. After graduating high school, he had the unique opportunity to participate in a Rotary Youth Exchange in Minas Gerais, Brazil. His time spent there formed everlasting memories and the understanding of a second language (Portuguese). After spending a year abroad, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he attended the state university and completed an undergraduate degree in History. He received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine (DPM) at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, followed by a three-year reconstructive foot and ankle residency program at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is board-certified in Foot Surgery and active in the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society. Dr. Pelto is passionate about sharing his podiatric knowledge to patients and the community and is often invited to speak at events. Dr. Pelto has written four books and several articles in relation to his profession.
