About David Purselle, MD
Dr. David Purselle is a board-certified psychiatrist, obesity medicine specialist and clinical researcher dedicated to advancing mental health care and obesity management through innovative treatments and evidence-based science. He serves as Medical Director of Advanced Discovery Research and Georgia Psychiatric Consultants, as well as Chief Medical Officer of MrsMD, where he leads initiatives at the intersection of psychiatry, obesity medicine, and women’s health.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Dr. Purselle completed his psychiatry residency at Emory University School of Medicine, where he later served as an Assistant Professor. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Research from Emory University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
With over two decades of experience in clinical psychiatry and psychopharmacology, Dr. Purselle has served as principal or sub-investigator on more than 80 clinical trials across phases II–IV. His research portfolio spans major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, Alzheimer’s disease, and ADHD, contributing to the development of novel therapeutics in mood and cognitive disorders.
