She received her undergraduate degree at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and her medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in her home state of Florida. She completed her general surgery residency at UMDNJ in New Jersey, her Urology residency at Cook County Hospital/Midwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Gaynor has been practicing for over 14 years.
Following the completion of her urology training, Dr. Gaynor pursued a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstruction as well as male and female voiding dysfunction, and Neurourology at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Prior to joining Midlantic Urology, Dr. Gaynor had been in practice in the Chicago and D.C. areas with particular focus on voiding dysfunction and pelvic floor reconstruction although she also treats general urology such as kidney stones, BPH and bladder cancer.
Dr. Gaynor has been a frequent grand round lecturer and author of multiple academic papers. She is also the recipient of the acclaimed Resident of the Year Award from Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. Dr. Gaynor is conversant in Spanish.
Dr. Darlene Gaynor is an expert Female Urologist fellowship trained since 2003 in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstruction.
