Frequently Asked Questions

Every doctor is vetted and credentialed before joining UBERDOC. Doctors must be board certified and have an active medical license in the state they are providing services. Exceptions are made for Psychologists, Dentists and Optometrists as these specialties do not require board certifications.

Doctors choose their appointment fee based on specialty and geography. The average cost is $250. You pay $50 when your appointment is confirmed, and the remaining after the completion of the visit.

Included in your UBERDOC appointment is an initial consultation. Any subsequent care or treatment can be through insurance.

If you choose a doctor who is a Medicare provider, you may need to only pay $50 for you UBERDOC appointment. Please discuss with your doctor directly to see if you are eligible.

UBERDOC works outside insurance. Your UBERDOC appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

About Dana Towle, MD
Board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeon Dr. Dana R. Towle is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with an added qualification in hand surgery. Today, he has his own private practice in Kansas City, MO where he performs surgeries of the breast, body, ears, and skin. Dr. Towle has extensive experience with multiple medical procedures. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. From his work with the poor in Latin America to his more than a quarter century of experience in the delicate fields of hand and wrist surgery, you can trust that you are in skilled hands to achieve the look you want. While Dr. Towle does not perform surgeries in his office, he does have medical privileges at Creekwood Surgery Center, the Surgery Center of Johnson County, and North Kansas City Hospital.

SKILLS AND SPECIALTIES
Early on in his career, Dr. Towle dedicated the majority of his time working with the hand and performing microsurgeries for patients with fragile hand and finger injuries, rheumatoid disease, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, nerve damage, genetic disorders, carpal tunnel, trigger finger, and more. With the same skill set, Dr. Towle grew his practice into what it is today by also offering plastic surgeries of the breasts, body contouring, ear repair, and nonsurgical treatments with radiofrequency heat energy through innovative Thermi® technologies (ThermiTight, ThermiSmooth, and ThermiVa) in his private practice.

EDUCATION
After attending pre-med at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, Dr. Towle attended and graduated with a medical degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. Then, he earned and completed a general surgery internship at the University of St. Louis as well. For his residency, Dr. Towle held a plastic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, MO. In the last years of his training, he was offered a hand surgery fellowship with Dr. Lynn D. Ketchum in Overland Park, KS.
