Frequently Asked Questions

Every doctor is vetted and credentialed before joining UBERDOC. Doctors must be board certified and have an active medical license in the state they are providing services. Exceptions are made for Psychologists, Dentists and Optometrists as these specialties do not require board certifications.

Doctors choose their appointment fee based on specialty and geography. The average cost is $250. You pay $50 when your appointment is confirmed, and the remaining after the completion of the visit.

Included in your UBERDOC appointment is an initial consultation. Any subsequent care or treatment can be through insurance.

If you choose a doctor who is a Medicare provider, you may need to only pay $50 for you UBERDOC appointment. Please discuss with your doctor directly to see if you are eligible.

UBERDOC works outside insurance. Your UBERDOC appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

Dr. Burress is a board certified Internal Medicine Specialist and Pediatrician that is board certified by the American Board of Internal medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. He has extensive experience dealing with all age groups in acute, urgent, emergency, chronic disease management, and preventative care. Dr. Burress’ educational experience includes graduating Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a minor in chemistry and then attending Medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bio-sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduating with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. Osteopathic Physicians have all the training of an MD with an added emphasis on treating "mind, body, and spirit" and realizing that the sum of the person's health is best addressed by treating all facets of the person and not just disease. Dr. Burress did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama Medical Center and Children’s and Women’s Hospital where he was also named as Chief Resident of his residency program. He has numerous academic and clinical awards including being awarded the Victor Benator award for Top Teaching Housestaff during his residency, the practitioner of the year award from the Tennessee Primary Care Association, being a National Health Service Scholar where he dedicated his knowledge and expertise in caring for the under-served in Rural Middle Tennessee, as well as multiple awards for Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Burress is also an active Clinical adjunct faculty for multiple institutions including Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Vanderbilt University, Duke University, Belmont University, University of South Alabama, South University and others with an emphasis on teaching our future clinicians of tomorrow. Dr. Burress has also been named to numerous clinical and legislative committees including but not limited to the State of Tennessee Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force, ACP Young Physicians Committee Representative, Nominee to the State of Tennessee Board of Healthcare Facilities, and numerous Medical Executive Staff appointments. Dr. Burress also is a published author and has extensive experience in providing care for the elderly, nursing home patients, inpatient rehab patients, skilled nursing patients, and hospice patients of all ages.
