Dr. Gallo is a native of Rhode Island, having been raised in Cranston. After graduating high school there, he entered into the honors program at Providence College, and then four years later the school of medicine at Boston University. Due to his love of jazz music and Boston, he decided to stay there for residency. He worked in community hospitals in Massachusetts before deciding to come home to work at Rhode Island Hospital. He was there for 11 years, during which time he worked In various services all throughout the department of psychiatry and being involved in numerous quality initiatives at the hospital. He founded South County Psychiatry due to his desire to provide quality mental health care for the southern part of the state. He currently lives in southern Rhode Island, with his wife, children, and dog, and enjoys listening to music, cooking, shooting sports, and spending time on the water.
