Dr. Adriana M Castro was born in Miami, spent 8 years of her early childhood in Santurce, Puerto Rico and is a first-generation Cuban-American. Because of this, she is completely fluent in both English and Spanish. She graduated from University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at UM/ Jackson Memorial Hospital also in Miami. She held the position of Chief of Pediatrics for 8 years at Baptist Hospital of Miami and she has been in private practice for over 27 years. She recently was awarded the highest (Level 3) PCMH certification for a 3 year term and is Board Certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Adriana Castro is committed to passing her knowledge down to future generations of doctors by actively participating in Preceptorships and Professorships of several medical schools and the Family Residency Program at FIU/West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Dr. Castro is the proud mother of 4 sons and brings this experience with a large dose of compassion and humor to all her interactions with her patients. Her motto is “I treat my patients with the same love and care I have for my own children”. Dr. Castro loves penguins, spending time with her family, and traveling.
